Looking for the Best Dog Fence?
When we first got involved with
removable-mesh pool fencing in 1988, people from all over the U.S. wanted to
use the pool fence for their pets. Most of these inquiries were for dogs, but
some
were also included other pets.
In the beginning, we sold our pool fence system to pet owners because we thought
it would do the job. Boy, were we wrong...
The animals were clawed through the mesh shredding the fabric in a matter of
weeks, hours or even minutes!
Even when we told new customers that a dog could easily get through the
material, some dog owners bought our product anyway -- and some of their pets
destroyed the pool fence.
(This is our 5 foot tall black mesh fence. This 60 pound Aussie
couldn't reach the top border material. Her
claws scratched at the mesh until she was worn out without damaging the mesh!)
In 2002, at a fabric trade show, we found what seemed to be a perfect
mesh for the Best Dog Fence. We tried it out at a kennel. It worked! We
then started to produce a new pet pool fence only to find out that the
mesh we thought would work ... didn't. This started a search that has led us
through dozens of mesh materials with one failure after another.
In 2005, we were shown a video by a manufacturer that showed dogs trying to get
though a mesh fabric. We tried the material, but it too turned out not to be as
resistant to pets as we required. But the way the mesh was constructed gave us
a new direction in our search for
a mesh for the best dog fence that we would be comfortable with.
Today, we offer two different pet mesh materials to give you the Best Dog Fence
possible:
Standard
Pet Mesh Fence
If you have a pet that is not particularly aggressive, we recommend our black
polyester mesh, which we spent five years working on. The holes in this mesh are
very small. Pets find it very difficult to claw through this mesh because
their claws are too large to fit into the mesh material. This mesh is very tough
but also see-through.
Wire Pet
Mesh Fence
If you have an aggressive pet that claws and chews, go with our wire pet mesh.
It has a border material sewn onto the outer edges. The mesh is small enough to
prevent claws and teeth from putting a hole in the fabric. The
wire pet fence must be
installed
a MINIMUM of 60 inches from the edge of a pool or spa in order to comply
with National Electrical Codes.
Best Dog Fence
poles
We needed a pole that a large dog couldn't break. Our first best dog fence used the
same pole we used on our
Original pool safety fence. This worked very well until the bigger dogs
started jumping on the fence. Over time, the aluminum poles began cracking from
metal fatigue. When we switched over to Guardian's Premier Pole we realized that
even the largest of animals couldn't cause the
pole to break!
The Guardian Best Dog Fence Systems are
truly the crème of the crop in the pet fence industry.
We believe there is no other dog fence on Earth like ours! You
can take the Best Down Fence down and put it back up anytime you want.
